As we mourn the loss of Wayne Goode, we’d like to take a moment to appreciate him and his long standing support for MCE. Not only did Wayne take many canoe trips on Missouri’s rivers with some of our founders and board members, but he also collaborated with MCE on important environmental legislation, such as the state’s hazardous waste law. Given his political expertise, gained in decades of service in both the Missouri House and Senate, he was always willing to advise MCE staff on legislative strategy.
Wayne’s passing marks the conclusion of a conscientious, generous, and brilliant life of service to the community, lived in its fullest to the very end. His attention to the details as well as the wide sweep of environmental concerns, while maintaining steady compassion for others, was nothing short of exemplary. A devastating loss is mourned, but there’s so much potential hope and joy in walking the path he chose.
