The Missouri Coalition for the Environment recently sent a letter to the EPA Region 7 Administrator, Meg McCollister, to inform them of the recent actions of the Missouri Legislature that are inhibiting the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) from enforcing environmental laws. We believe these barriers to enforcement are also a violation of the agreement between the EPA and DNR, which could ultimately lead to significant loss of funding to DNR to carry out a wide variety of environmental oversight and enforcement in Missouri.
