Urban agriculture is spreading across Missouri as interest grows from consumers to eat locally-sourced food and as urban residents see the opportunities for economic growth and increased healthy food access through urban farming in our cities.
MCE focuses our urban agriculture work mostly in St. Louis as part of the St. Louis Food Policy Coalition; however, there are several organizations across the state doing great work to support urban food production.
Groups in St. Louis that MCE works with on urban agriculture include Gateway Greening, Urban Harvest STL, Good Life Growing, EarthDance Organic Farm School, and the International Institute of St. Louis’s Global Farms Program.
