Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Farm-to-School Taskforce
Their Food Story: Missouri Department of Agriculture promotes local food from local farmers across Missouri in various ways, including AgriMissouri. AgriMissouri is a website that promotes all things related to Missouri agriculture, including tourism, agriculture events, and a directory of producers based on a particular agricultural product. The AgriMissouri staff at the Missouri is involved in other local food and local farmer efforts, including promoting farm to school programs across the state.
A Person Behind the Project: Lindsey Jones, Farm-to-School Coordinator of AgriMissouri, coordinated five farm to school workshops across the state this summer: St. Louis, Columbia, Kansas City, and Springfield. Lindsey is also a member of the Farm-to-School Taskforce, established as a result of a mandate by the state legislature in 2012. Melissa and Summer 2015 intern Divya Babbula met her at the June 2015 workshop in Wildwood.
